„A lot of people who are in the movie business don’t really know much about movies, and they certainly don’t know movie history. You have to even find a code when you’re talking to these people—you can’t use the references that you would use when talking to somebody who knows movie history. When you go in to pitch something, it depends what you invoke. You can’t invoke anything really before 1980 with these people because they don’t know what you’re talking about. It’s limiting. They get annoyed. They get offended that you are somehow trying to expose the fact that they don’t know things, and make them feel inadequate. Which is of course not the point, or why you do it.“

Joe Dante, né le 28 novembre 1946 à Morristown (New Jersey), est un réalisateur, scénariste, producteur et critique de cinéma américain.
Il appartient à la génération des réalisateurs américains formés à la New World Pictures, studio créé par Roger Corman en 1970. Il se fait remarquer avec Piranhas en 1978 et Hurlements en 1981, des films d’horreur au ton parodique ou tragique.

Tim Burton est né le 25 août 1958 et grandit dans la maison familiale de Burbank, une petite ville Californienne située aux alentours de Los Angeles qui avait pour particularité d’accueillir bon nombre de studios de cinéma très renommés tels Columbia, Warner Bros. et surtout Disney.

Robert Zemeckis est un réalisateur, producteur et scénariste américain, né le 14 mai 1951 à Chicago. Découvert grâce au film d’aventures À la poursuite du diamant vert, il a entre autres réalisé la trilogie Retour vers le futur, Qui veut la peau de Roger Rabbit, Forrest Gump, et Seul au monde.
Toutefois, il existe d’autres grand réalisateurs dans le monde du cinéma notamment dans le cinéma Kollywood.
